Plum is a common name of some tree species in the genus Prunus of the rosaceae family. In Turkey, it grows on all sides except the high plateau region of the Eastern Anatolia region and the arid and very hot parts of the Southeastern Anatolia region. Early period green plum followed by Japanese plum that matures in midsummer (P. salicina). European plum, which begins to mature in August (P. domestica) can be eaten until October. The thin peel of the fruits of plum of different shapes and sizes, which ripen in different periods, is green, yellow, red and purple colors according to the species. The most well-known plum varieties in Turkey are green plum, pastor plum, damson plum and sweet thin-skinned plum.
